When you buy an age verifier or drivers license reader, we recommend that you first consider the location in which you will deploy this device, and what you will use it for. Is your business located where you will be getting customers from your state only, or will your customers be coming from out of state too? If your target is only customers from your State, you will need the scanner that reads your particular State's ID format, and depending on whether you want to store the data or not. CAV-2000 is less expensive, but it reads only the Magnetic Stripe, and does not store the scanned data. The CAV-3100 also reads only the Magnetic Stripe, but it has a memory that allows you to store the read data for management purposes. It comes with Pro Manager software to help you manage the data. If you plan to target both customers from your State and out of State, you will need the CAV-3200, which reads both Magnetic Stripe and barcode. Just like the CAV-3100, the CAV-3200 also has a memory, and comes with the Pro Manager Software. If you will be using the ID Scanner in restaurants, bars, clubs, or casinos, you may consider the CAV3100 or CAV3200. The Pro Manager Software that comes with these devices has optional BAN feature that allows you to ban or restrict undesired customers from your establishment. If this is for liquor stores, convenient or grocery stores, where you may not need the BAN feature, then any of the models will be suitable.
