Linear and RSS bar code decoding. The Firescan is ideal for Retail POS, office, commercial and light industrial applications due to
its outstanding performance, design, ergonomics and ease of use. The scanner a PUZZLE SOLVER technology, which allows it to read poorly printed or damaged bar codes, and its data editing and data formatting function allows the user to modify scanned data prior to transfer, ensuring compatibility with the application on the host system.
Also, the aiming system of the scanner permits easy pointing on the code at higher distances. Its in-field update capability provided guarantees the user's investment because the laser gun firmware can be easily updated, thereby maintaining an always up-to-date device.
FireScan is available in three models with different interface types. The standard D131 provides USB, RS232, WEDGE and WAND connections, the D111 provides complete connectivity to main IBM46xx cash registers,
and the D141 model performs undecoded reader applications, such as connecting the reader to flatbed scanners. The scanner reads Reduced Space Symbologies (RSS), which is an emerging symbology that can be printed on a smaller label, which meets emerging market needs for a greater amount of data on a symbol.
